Concept
This holiday card animation was created during my design internship at Imaginary Forces, featuring mice characters ice skating in festive spirits. Inspired by the joy of the holidays and cherished moments with loved ones, the piece captures a whimsical, celebratory moment in a magical winter setting.

Key Insights

With this project, I crafted an emotionally resonant story by exploring universal themes of festivity and togetherness. I learned to deliver a simple yet impactful message within a short timeframe, making the animation easily accessible and shareable on social media.

Full Sequence

Character Design

I chose mice as my characters for their small yet lively nature, evoking warmth and charm. I added matching outfits to emphasize the holiday spirit of togetherness and joy in a whimsical, storybook-like setting.

Character Model & Rig

The characters were modeled in Blender and then imported into Cinema 4D for rigging. While sharing the same design, I varied their scale to create a sense of familial connection between the two.

Animation

The animation was designed at 8 frames per second to achieve a stop-motion style. To complement this style, the environment was crafted with textured elements, adding a handcrafted quality. In post-production, soft white feathered borders around the edges and depth of field were applied to evoke the imagery of a snow globe.
